About S.A.L.T Suburban Kitchen

My transition to a food truck came from my desire to bring my food to more people. I started with a booth at the Downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake City, where I worked all summer. It didn’t take long for me to realize that a food truck would give me the mobility I was looking for. With a self-contained kitchen, I could offer a wider variety of foods compared to working out of a temporary booth. And so, S.A.L.T Suburban Kitchen was born.

Story

I've always had a love for food since I was a little girl. I was born and raised in Kolkata, India, and am of Chinese (Asian) descent. Growing up in a culture deeply rooted in food and community, I was surrounded by the rich culinary traditions of both India and China. India, with all its beauty, is a true food mecca! The complexity of its diverse foods and the wide array of spices make Indian cuisine both delicious and fascinating. In Chinese culture, meals are not just about food—they’re a way of bringing people together. Sharing a meal is what bonds us, and I believe that food has the power to unite communities. This is why I want to share my food with others.
