Our story began in early 2016 during a family vacation to Costa Rica. Tucked away in the hills of Santa Teresa, the aromas and flavors from a small local coffee roaster’s humble shop captivated Darren and Tonya Blackford, the founders of Wasatch Roasting Company. Upon returning home (with as much coffee as their suitcases could hold), the Blackfords were determined to recreate the magic they had experienced abroad. After months of reading, learning, and hands-on practice, Wasatch Roasting Company was born. What started in the Blackfords’ garage has now grown into a beautiful shop in downtown Ogden, UT. Here, we proudly roast and brew our coffee for all to enjoy. Feel free to step into the back of the shop to meet our roaster, or simply relax and enjoy the heavenly scent of freshly roasted beans. You’ll find us on Grant Avenue, just off Historic 25th Street, right next to our friends at the Copper Nickel. Staying true to our values, we strive to be as involved in the local community as possible. Everything in our store is crafted by local artists and artisans. We feature a new artist each month as part of the Ogden Art Stroll and have opened an Aerosol Art Gallery on our outdoor patio. We also regularly participate in the Ogden Farmers Market, the Twilight Concert Series, and a variety of other community events. For us, “Buy Local” isn’t just a slogan—it’s a way of life.
