Story
Our family story starts in Jalisco, Mexico, in a very small town called Huejúcar. My mom, Maria, made the incredibly tough decision to leave her family and begin the long journey to the U.S. Fast forward a few years, and we were living in Salt Lake City. Sugar House became our home, and we absolutely loved it. I say this all the time: I’m a Mexican immigrant who grew up in a Mormon community with a Middle Eastern stepdad—and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
